Über meine Bibliothek
My library is in constant flux. A hobby I enjoy with our grandkids is buying books at garage sales and donating them to a local Reach Out and Read program, a homeless shelter, or a neighborhood public library. We look for both fiction and nonfiction books on all topics but mainly books about nature and the environment and social justice issues.

Über mich
My husband Ken, a recently retired professor, and I are enjoying our roles as ecostewards in our community. We volunteer with people of all ages on various projects including Adopt a Park/Adopt a Stream and our church’s Earth Stewardship program. I’m also a volunteer for the Green Omaha Coalition and a founding member of the Omaha chapter of Slow Food USA.

Some of our projects, along with many others, are contained in a book I’ve written with our two older grandkids Justin and Alexis, Green Philanthropy For Familes: 160 Simple Earth Honoring Gifts, Actions, Activities and Projects.

It's a collection of free or inexpensive acts of kindness that benefit people and the Earth. Readers can choose to begin in their own homes or in their own backyards or with a gift, action, activity, or project that involves community or global outreach. There are green philanthropy ideas appropriate for everyone in your family or group. Some are specifically geared toward youth or adults, but most can involve all ages.

The free ebook can be downloaded at Free EBooks.Net: http://www.free-ebooks.net/ebook/Green-Philanthropy-For-Families-160-Simple-Eart... The printed book is available at Better World Books and Powells.Com
