Über meine Bibliothek

My aim is to try and add most of my books to this library, although I'm concentrating mainly on my specialist tomes for the moment; it's somewhat of a slow process. As I am now an academic-in-training this collection is morphing from a personal library to (part of) a working library; once I'm done adding all my current books I expect to add mostly history and history-related items, and may or may not continue to add fiction. However, as with any bibliophile, I also have a collection of random books picked up on the basis that they look interesting.

These days I tend to borrow fiction from the library, partly because with the amounts of reading I do for work the stuff I read at home tends towards the mindless entertainment. I've decided not to add the books I read for my PhD to the database, as otherwise it would get confusing and grow out of control - it's partly intended as a finding aid for myself.

I am unreasonably pleased that I have a sub-30 median library obscurity; it has been as low as 25...

Former aeronautical engineer and wannabe renaissance man. Towards that end I'm currently studying for a PhD in the History of Technology.
