Über meine Bibliothek
The prospect of listing all my books is way too daunting. I intend to list only those books that have really engaged me, and which I can confidently recommend as an enjoyable read. Many library customers have enthusiastically worked their way through some of my 'favourites' over the years! There are hundreds of books on my shelves at home which I haven't yet tried (the legacy of my addiction to op-shops and garage sales!) I only ever give a book 50 pages - if it hasn't really grabbed me by then, I give it away. Too many other good ones out there, to waste precious reading time on the mediocre. Secondhand bookshops are also Heaven on a plate for me.... if it weren't for love of my fantastic Aussie family (and of Brisbane) I'd relocate to Hay-on-Wye like a shot.
Über mich
Another babyboomer. I'm a retired librarian - for much of my extremely enjoyable career I worked in the public library sector. Now finally there's the time to read to my hearts content. My husband has taken photos of me with my nose in a book at numerous beauty spots around Europe and Asia - he didn't think people would believe him otherwise! I love looking at the libraries of other LibraryThing contributors where there is some overlap with my own choices - a great way of getting titles to try.
