My parents never bought books. I do.

I'm a writer, editor, and music journalist based in Brooklyn, New York. For 3 years, I wrote a monthly column called "After Silence" in the San Francisco-based dance music magazine XLR8R. I'm working on a novel about a 33-year-old loser Mexican-American DJ set in near-future Houston, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico. Big, beautiful and strange: look out for it in stores in 2093. I'm also writing some stories, trying to get those published. I'm in the MFA in fiction program at Syracuse University where I study scribbling with George Saunders, Dana Spiotta, Mary Karr and Arthur Flowers. My articles have popped up, amongst others, in VIBE, The New York Press and The Austin Chronicle.
