Über meine Bibliothek
Much of my library reflects the collection I've amassed during over 25 years of local and family history research, which I've used to create websites of use to other researchers, including:

- The Rock Island Lighthouse Historical & Memorial Association

- The Jefferson County NY Pioneer Portraits Project

- Hounsfield History.net

- The Jefferson County NY Local History Network

My library also reflects an interest in politics (not always my own) I developed during my time living in Washington, DC, plus my interest in Buddhist thinking which is an outgrowth of my studies in both religion and sociology.
Über mich
I am a native of Jefferson County, New York, which is bounded by Lake Ontario on the west, the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River and Canada on the north, and the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains on the east.

I graduated from Houghton College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Bible (and one class shy of a minor in Linguistics), and in 2002 from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Master of Library Science degree.

From 1996 to 2003 I lived in Washington, D.C., where I worked as an index writer for the National Geographic Society, and performed freelance historical research at the National Archives and other libraries. In 2007, I started the Indexers who LibraryThing group to connect indexers on LT and the books they've indexed via the use of a common tag "indexed by me".

I currently live in the Boston area, where I work as a manager of design for a world-wide provider of online bibliographic research databases. In the fall of 2008, I completed Business Analysis certification at Boston University's Corporate Education Center.

I recently wrote an article published in Thousand Islands Life magazine marking the centennial of my great-great-grandfather's invention of a "motor iceboat," available online at http://www.thousandislandslife.com/BackIssues/Archive/tabid/393/articleType/Arti...

I am currently working on a book about the history of Rock Island Lighthouse at Fisher's Landing, New York, where an ancestor of mine was keeper during the late 19th-century. You can read articles recently published online about my work on the lighthouse at these sites:

Thousand Islands Life Magazine [online] (January 2009)
- "Rock Island Lighthouse: A Story of Discovery"

Watertown Daily Times [newspaper] (January 2009)
- "Lighthouse lover: keeper of the keepers"
- "Profiles of the 14 Rock Isle keepers"
