Patricia Cleary was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to California when she was young and there she developed a passion for the Spanish language. She holds a Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco and a Masters in Fine Arts in Writing for Children from Vermont College. She has been a school principal, professor of bilingual education and has written several bilingual educational texts. Jack Rabbit in the Painted Desert her first picture book, was published in Madrid, Spain by Editorial Esfinge. Her young adult novel, Kira and the Immigrant Thief, was published May 2014 by Desert Breeze Publishing.
