Über mich: Peter writes about wine for several publications and websites, and has visited wineries in France, South Africa, Canada, New York and new England, Texas, Washington, Oregon and California.

Peter holds the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Higher Certificate with Distinction, and is a lecturer for The Cape Wine Academy, which is South Africa's official wine education body. He presents wine tastings and has trained staff at Vinopolis, Londons premier wine attraction. In February 2004 he was awarded Hononary membership of the producers Pinotage Association. In 2004 he was an Associate Judge at the International Wine Challenge in London, judged at the South Africa National Wine Show 'Veritas' competition and at the ABSA/Pinotage Association 'Top 10' Pinotage Competition in Paarl, South Africa . In 2005 he judged at the ABSA/Pinotage Association 'Top 10' Pinotage Competition in South Africa, and was on WINE magazines Sauvignon Blanc tasting panel.

Peter believes wine should be fun, and in 1998 he decided to share his pleasure in amusing wine labels by setting up the website www.winelabels.org. His new book Marilyn Merlot and the Naked Grape showcases some of the best labels from the site, together with many more exclusive to the book.
