Über meine Bibliothek
My library is fairly eclectic, consisting of roughly 65:35 nonfiction:fiction. Much of the nonfiction is science while the fiction portion is dominated by science fiction and fantasy.
Über mich
In the morning, I get up, drink coffee and go to the lab. Sometimes I eat breakfast too.

I am interested in basal plant phylogeny and cacti evolution. Currently I am working on developing molecular markers for lineage identification in Chara species with the hopes of future population genetic studies. In the past I have worked on the evolution of Hydra species, South American cotton tetraploids, Caribbean drosophila as well as the evaluation of prairie restoration success. Right now I’m just a lowly undergrad, but I plan to apply to graduate school next year.

One of my favorite aspects of biology, aside from research, is teaching. I’ve been supplemental instructor for introductory biology 1 and 2, molecular biology and I have TAed molecular biology and genetics lab. In the future, I hope to be a professor of biology at a university and combine these two passions.

Aside from research and studying, I like to read, draw, cook, watch Star Trek, play table top RPGs and garden.
