These days I'm a reader of crime novels more than any thing else although I'm reading the Patrick O'Brian novels again for the second time. I used to be keen on the "improving" novel but not so much now though Richard Ford and Kent Haruf write novels that I really enjoy. I'm a retired teacher. I like to travel in an armchair and in real life to France, Britain, Ireland and New Zealand as often as I can.
