Google Editions on the verge

Here is this morning's L.A. Times story on the finally forthcoming live version of the Google Editions website:

I hope to download these works to my new netbook rather than an E-reader. What download method will you use?

So far I see nothing on those pages about public library tie-ins, but I'm going to send an e-mail to Google Editions now with that question.
