It estimates that I have 22,000 words in my vocabulary.

Test yours! I admit I'm curious to see what yours are. :)

I got 26,600
I think that French being my first language could have helped me a little since there were some words of French origin that might not be obvious to native English speakers.

Wow. 40,500 for me. But I am a language prof., so that probably has something to do with it...
4princesspeaches
31,900 for me.
5jseger9000
I got 35,400. I blame it on my early love of comics and (genuine) pulp. Lovecraft might be purple prose, but he will build your vocab. Well, that and Jeopardy!
6Nicole_VanK
I got 35,400 too. Not bad for a non-native speaker.
7SimonW11
did it twice there were minor differences got 36000 and 36500.
off to look up the words that made me go damn I should know that.

30500 - the very last row had me nearly totally stumped! Who talks like that!?
Anyway being the opsimath I am, I'm off to get some panabulum as I can be a bit of a valetudinarian and I'm worried that a williwaw might deracinate me.

#9 - HAHAHAHA!
Reminds me of the old Damon Wayans character Oswald Bates on In Living Color. The self educated convict who would always try to use impressive sounding big words but usually wound up incorrectly using gynecological terms.
"I believe it was Plato...No, excuse me, I mean Play-Doh...who stuck to the wall when he said one must not put one's transvestite in jeopardy if one is to become a cunning linguist."

#9 and #10 - Hahahaha...That's hilarious!
12ScribbleScribe
lol, that's why I dont use big words. I'm afraid of misusing them and some smart person laughing at me. xD
13BruceCoulson
37,000...not bad for a high school graduate with no college education. I guess all that time looking up words that Lovecraft used wasn't completely wasted, after all.
14jseger9000
#13 - It's funny, isn't it? Lovecraft really is a vocabulary builder.
15ScribbleScribe
lol I was so embarassed about my score that i'm now scribbling down every word I see that I don't know the meaning for and looking them up. -_-
This is going to make reading take a lot longer for me lol.
Fun test though huh. :)

That final column is a real killer diller isn't it?
18saraslibrary
#15: LOL! And that is why I'm not going to take that quiz. I know I'd score very poorly on it. But at least you tried it; that's worth something! :)
19stretch
I'll admit to an embrassing low score of 21,500 words. I think I have alot more studying for the GRE vocab section. Hmmm... strange how that turned into a helpful tool.
20bnielsen
27.700 words, thanks to quite a few words I only knew because of some Tom Lehrer records :-)
21andyl
41,200 for me. Some very specialised words in the third column. Like a funambulist I was teetering on the edge a bit but my knowledge of beer and brewing got me sparge.
22PJGraham
30,800 for me. Thought I would do better, but to me the list went from slightly upper echelon words to "what the?" words.
23ScribbleScribe
Now I have 23,800 words.
24riaanw
I got 35,300. But give me another few months of playing Words with Friends incessantly on my iPhone and I'll probably double that.
