Where are all the Lesbian bookworms for 2011?

Hi! See there aren't any messages started for the new year! So HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! I am glad to find a site to share Lesbian Literature with each other. There are lots of good Lesbian reading out there both fiction and non-fiction. Of course there are tons of great fiction and non-fiction books not involving lesbians or written by Lesbian writers. Hopefully there will be more folks joining or restarting
their threads with this group.

I'm going to make it a New Year resolution to post more about my two favorite subjects... lesbians and books. Hope that many of the 192 of us (so far) will, too!

Happy New Year from PA. I joined Librarything last month and love it. I have always loved making lists of books read, favorites etc. I had to tell myself to concentrate on Christmas instead of inventorying my bookcases :) Looking forward to talking and maybe discovering new books.

Hello! I made a New Year's Resolution to...well, read more books, but I always resolve that...and to get more involved with other readers and discussions I'm interested in on LT. I live out in the sticks, so there's not a lot of people to talk books with here at home.

My SantaThing was a pretty huge fan of lesbian teen fiction too (we actually already knew each other via twitter, so that was pretty funny when we figured everything out!), so I got 'Far from Xanado' 'Ash' and 'Mosh Pit' to kick off my year!

reading Sing You Home as we speak. My, Ms. Picoult sure touches on a number of controversial subjects in this one.

Hi Southern Book Lady! Ditto on that live out in the sticks, so limited book discussions. Ok, so speaking of lesbian literature and living in the sticks, did anyone read Emma Donoghue's "Landing"?? I'm waiting for a chic cosmopolitan flight attendant to land in my little snow covered town...

I actually finished Landing just last week. As always, I liked Donoghue's deeply flawed but sympathetic characters-- and then her skill in making an uncertain end satisfying.

hi all. I've been around about a year now and in that time i have:
1) read all of Sara Waters, Loved everyone of them
2) read all of Ann Bannon, Beebo Brinker , liked them and other Lesbian pulp like Vin Packer
3) read Jeannette Winterson (Oranges and Passion) liked them

any suggestions for something darker perhaps.

Hello. I have just joined. I am a big fan of Emma Donoghue . Her book Hood was the first lesbian novel I ever read. She is from Ireland like me and we have written books in the same genre. I don't expect anyone here has read Dove: Can their dream survive against the odds? - A love story by Rain McAlistair yet as it has only just been published but I hope you enjoy it if you do.
I am currently reading a great lesbian novel called First by pritekelkim::Kim Pritekel and am thoroughly enjoying it.
I'm glad to have joined this group and am looking forward to sharing all sorts of exciting books with other members.

DanieXJ, I listened to Sing You Home from Audible.com and loved it.

RainM, I have read all of Kim Pritekel's books and enjoyed all. I have her latest "1049 Club" in my to be read pile, which is quite high at the moment.

I am currently reading "Galveston 1900: Swept Away" on the internet since it is out of print and I cannot afford the price they are asking for it on Amazon.

BTW, the audiobook included the songs, sung by someone I didn't want to hear sing anymore. Just read the book.

Yeah, the book came with the CD too. I tried the whole 'listen to the CD while reading the first chapter' thing that is suggested in the book. Yeah, and then I didn't... didn't enjoy the CD, but the book was okay.
