I thought roleplayers, who typically have large collections of books, were under-represented here. I know there are fantasy and science fiction groups, but isn't it nice to be able to catalogue your collection of game stuff and talk about it?

Well there is a Gamers group already and at least one RPG system specific group.

I didn't find the gamers group until after the fact. "Gamers" is such a generic term, though, and can include computer and console players, board gamers, collectible card flippers, and so on. I wanted something specific to RPGs.

Maybe part of the intro to the group should be name your favorite RPG system.

Personally, I liked Old World of Darkness Werewolf.
Though I won't turn down a good D&D game either.

I'm always keen for a good game of Shadowrun, though I enjoy the Old World of Darkness games quite a bit too.

I have mostly played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay and a bit of MERP. I prefer Warhammer.

I totally dig Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. I'm anciously awaiting the 40k roleplaying games, particularly the Inquisitor game.

My group is playing some Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay at the moment. It's probably our main Fantasy game, since our GM and some of the older players are Warhammer fans from way back. Hanging out for the 40K game too.

I cut my teeth on Old World of Darkness Werewolf; Mage, Wraith, and Changeling remain two of my favorites but my all-time obscession is the Ravenloft campaign setting.

It's a great initiative, says I. So where do you people get your books? In Sweden, roleplayers not living in either Stockholm or Gothenburg have to resort to online stores, which isn't as sexy from a browsing point of view. Is this typical for the rest of the world as well?

There are a number of shops selling RPG books in the USA. So, no problem there.

I began with 1st ed AD&D and have probably played every RPG since then, including the more esoteric ones. My favorite, however, has always been ShadowRun, before FASA sold it.

Now, however, I have little time to play RPG's anyway; but, I continue to collect the books and such.

I've played a little D&D, many years ago, but my favourite system was always Runequest (1st ed - with the Glorantha setting). I haven't gamed for quite a few years, but have recently written an Earthdawn novel for RedBrick (www.earthdawn.com), the New Zealand company which has licensed "classic" Earthdawn from FASA. There are some similarities between Glorantha and Barsaive, the predominant setting for Earthdawn, so that was a nice point of familiarity when I took on the job of writing the novel.

I've been playing D&D for about 8 years now, since I was a wee 16-year-old, and I still play every week (twice, if I'm lucky). Somewhere along the line I got into Call of Cthulhu, though the campaign in which I played was cut sadly short.

My favorite setting is still the old standard Greyhawk; it's all about what you can imagine for yourself.

I'd like to try d20 Modern at some point, despite not knowing anyone who plays anymore.

I'm playing various White Wolf games, which include World of Darkness, Vampire The Requiem, Werewolf The Forsaken, Mage The Awakening, Promethean The Created, Changeling The Lost, Exalted Second Edition and Scion Hero but there are some other games out there that I would like to try out... Hero System, Angel The Roleplaying Game, Star Wars The Saga Edition, Monte Cook's World of Darkness, GURPS, Savage Worlds just to name a few...

Threadous resurectous!

I started to use Librarything as a means to catalog my RPG collection!

Cut my teeth on D&D, but played many different systems. Working on filling out my incomplete sets a book at a time...

Been filling in the Warhammer Fantasy first and 2nd editions most recently.

>25 Owltherian: LOL. No, it is quite clear for someone who understands words and nuances.
RoleplayERS is about the people and the systems.
RoleplayING is actually playing the game.
