I'm starting off this month with Carol Berg's Breath and Bone.

Reading A Wrinkle in Time for Banned Book Week.

I started The Fish Can Sing in August but set it aside for several weeks while my father was in the hospital. It wasn't the right sort of book for hospital reading. I've picked it up again, and I'm also listening to When Will There Be good News?

Just started reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I'm reading Trio for Blunt Instruments right now and Pitch Dark. Not enjoying Pitch Dark. It's a supernatural thriller, but I thought it was a straight thriller. I would put it away, but it's an ER book, so I'll keep trying with it a little longer.

Started reading A Study In Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle yesterday.

I'm reading The zap gun in between diapers and dishes :)

I'm part of the group that is reading The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins and I have also started Chinaberry Sidewalks by Rodney Crowell, a memoir of his early years.

I can't wait any longer, so I'm reading The End of the Wasp Season, Denise Mina's newest novel.

I was going to read The End of the Wasp Season also, but then I realized that I probably should read Still Midnight first.

I'm doing the group read of The Woman in White and am also working on Washington: A Life, non-fiction by Ron Chernow

I'm still reading Boswell's Life of Johnson, and I'm getting ready to start the Charles Lenox series by Charles Finch (am I the only one who gets confused as to which Charles is the author and which is the character?). And there's textbooks. Lots and lots of textbooks.

I started my ER copy of The Technologists by Matthew Pearl I haven't made as much progress as I would like because of an overloaded schedule (partly due to having to work this weekend) and mostly due to a horrendous sinus headache that just wants to linger. It's excellent so far! I've got The Brass Dolphin by Caroline Harvey (aka Joanne Trollope) and The Ox-Bow Incident by Walter Van Tilburg Clark checked out of the library so I need to get to them soon as well.

I'm starting a collection of Poe stories in honor of Halloween's approach.

I've just started Howl's moving castle.

I'm loving Lady Audley's Secret!

I just started Death Assemblage, the first book in a mystery series with a geologist sleuth. This one is set in the mountains of western Nevada.

I'm reading Dances With Wolves by Michael Blake.

Now reading The Wheelman by Duane Swierczynski (such a mouthful!)

I'm reading The Jumping-Off Place by Marian Hurd McNeely. Still listening to When Will There Be Good News? by Kate Atkinson and really enjoying the audio experience.

I'm reading The Bootlegger's Daughter. Just what I need in life, another series!

I finished The Jumping-off Place and When Will There Be Good News? this afternoon, and I'm starting Lady Audley's Secret and the audio version of Agatha Christie's Appointment with Death.

I'm reading a really good YA Sci-Fi, Unwind by Neal Shusterman and I have started The Man In the Queue by Joesphine Tey.

DeltaQueen50, I liked Unwind, although one part in particular was difficult to read.

I'm reading The Monsters: Mary Shelley and the Curse of Frankenstein.

I'm reading The Revisionists by Thomas Mullen, the author of The Many Deaths of the Firefly Brothers.

I've started The Girl in the Steel Corset by Kady Cross.

#24 - Victoria: Thanks for the warning. I figured out what I was going to have to read so I was semi-prepared, but still, it was difficult to get through.

I am now going to pick up Mr. Peanut by Adam Ross, this will count as a Bonus Read.

I'm learning new and jaw-dropping things about Danish history with The Royal physician's visit.

I'm readingThe Devil's Closet. The subject matter is a little difficult to read, but there is also plenty of background story to make it interesting overall.

I'm reading The Corsican Brothers by Alexandre Dumas. It's a re-read for me, been a few years.

I'm reading a gothic novel, Martha Peake by Patrick McGrath, in honor of the month, Laura Rider's Masterpiece by Jane Hamilton because the cover is so fabulous and The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo because there it was, sitting suggestively on a shelf.

I'm looking for A Good Man in Africa and am about two thirds of the way though but haven't found one yet.

I'm reading Dracula, which seems seasonally appropriate!

I am about to start Havemercy by Jaida Jones and Danielle Bennett.

Virtually mowing through Denise Mina's Maureen O'Donnell-trilogy. Currently reading the last book, aptly titled Resolution.

I'm about halfway through with Lady Audley's Secret and loving it so far. I've also started Sisters of Sinai and I'm listening to The Dogs of Riga.

I am about to start Mary Roberts Rinehart's The Bat. This will close out my Timeless Mystery Category. I didn't have room to repeat this category next year and I already know I am going to miss it. I have a feeling that two categories isn't going to be enough for all the mysteries I would like to read.

I've belated began The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, after sidetracking myself with a lackluster gothic by Patrick McGrath called Martha Peake. His books are usually creepy and atmospheric, but this one fell flat for me.

I've also started Blacklands by Belinda Bauer, which is very, very good indeed. So far.

Two good books Ridgeway Girl! I have finally gotten to The Scorch Trials by James Dashner and, what looks to be a wonderful western read, Shavetail by Thomas Cobb.

Being a bemused land-lubber whilst reading Master and Commander. I am not sure if some it of its in English :) I mean I know what a top gallant sail is but what's a crosstree?

I'm doing that thing where I have bits and pieces of various books to finish: The Poet- excellent, even though I started reading The Narrows when I realized that it referred to the events in The Poet.

Also, Tales of Men and Ghosts which is more about men than ghosts, and Calling out for You.

Picked out the first in the Adamsberg books by Fred Vargas, The Chalk Circle Man. The Commissaire is quite a strange man but I'm enjoying the story so far.

I'm currently reading Sleep While I Sing, a mystery set in British Columbia's Sunshie Coast, and listening to Buttons and Bones by Monica Ferris.

I'm listening to Graveminder by Melissa Marr.

I'm about to start The Tale of Halcyon Crane by Wendy Webb.

I am enjoying Georgette Heyer's The Devil's Cub and just about to start a Halloween read, Ghost Road Blues by Jonathan Maberry.

About halfway through The Cruelty of Heresy: An Affirmation of Christian Orthodoxy by C. FitzSimons Allison, who is an Anglican (or Episcopalian?) bishop. A bit dry, but the material is interesting (if you're into early ecumenical councils).

I'm struggling to keep up with a zillion Japanese names and a zillion lost plot threads in The harsh cry of the heron while averaging four hours of sleep per night. It goes a tad slowly...

I'm still wallowing in The Stand with about 600 pages to go. I think I can, I think I can...

I'm in the middle of The Priory by Dorothy Whipple -- charming!

Given up on Master and Commander because whilst it had some great promise, nothing was happening at 159 pages in and life is too short. So now I am reading fantastical middle east espionage (no honestly) Nile Shadows by Edward Whittemore.

I'm reading An Irish Country Village, the second book in Patrick Taylor's Irish Country series, and I'm listening to Mr. Monk Goes to the Firehouse. I'm a huge fan of the TV series, but this is the first book I've tried in the series.

I'm getting so close to the finish of my 11 in 11 Challenge. I am reading Angels of Mercy by Lyn Andrews, about WW I nurses to finish out my War & The Homefront category and then I just have 1 non-fiction book to go.

I started on the fifth and final volume of Outlaws of the Marsh, and I am thrilled. I should be finished with it in a couple of weeks. Then, I only have four more books to read to meet my 11 in 11 challenge of 41 books. I realize that's a low number for most on this challenge, but it's great for me!

I'm plugging away at Machine of Death...hoping to finish before the end of the month!

Having finished the wonderful The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, I've decided to read something completely different and so am enjoying The Affair by Lee Child.

RidgewayGirl, The Affair is on my 12-12 list, so I'm looking forward to your review!

Am currently reading Heartless by Gail Carriger, but probably won't finish it before the end of the month!
