I knew it's a *tad* bit early, but I thought I'd ask anyways.

What are your plans for the novel you just wrote? Is it something you intend to polish up and try to publish eventually? Are you planning on taking advantage of the Createspace offer to get proofs of your novel?

Or are you planning on shoving that novel into a dark corner for a few months and forgetting it exists? (That's what I usually do after NaNo).

This year I'm going to try *really* hard not to dump my novel as soon as December hits. I have multiple scenes that need fleshing out and multiple Really Important Scenes that I've outlined but haven't gotten the nerve to write just yet. I really want to see this one through to the end, and I don't just mean writing "the end".

Publishing, I doubt it. Maybe self-publish, someday, but not on the radar right now.

My story is not finished so I'll be writing probably through the end of December. After that, depending out it turns out, we'll see!

Same here, i'll continue with the draft through December, then set it aside for awhile before revision. we'll see how it comes out after the second draft, then i'll give it to a reader to see what they think.

Alas, with only the few days I had after exams, I don't think I'm going to make it to 50k this year (normally my exams don't go right up through the end of november, but this time they did), so I will be completing the novel in december, regardless of the final word count. :)

Mine goes to the bottom of the WIP pile. Technically, it's finished, but I'll probably add about another 10k to it when its turn comes up. I have a short story to finish, and I'm still editing last year's novel, which is priority #1.

5: You have a solid plan, there.... And probably something I should do. *looks sadly at NaNo-2004 novel that has never been finished*

Don't feel bad about your 2004 novel. I thought I'd finished my first NaNo novel in 2009. All it needed was editing. I looked at it a year later and realized there was more to the story than I'd originally thought. So I continued it and really did finish it. But it's still waiting for me to finish editing it. I'll get there -- someday.

I put my novel aside for now. I'll finish it up and start editing after finals.

My attempt at NaNo one year was unsuccessful at first, but then I had an idea for a novel a few months later and realized the plot for the original book actually worked as a sequel for the new book. It's a couple of years later, but the first book is almost done (with editing) and the second is a current work in progress. I don't know if I'd ever actually publish them, but it's been an entirely enjoyable adventure.

My NaNo novel is a several-years-long into the future project (big historical) so my post-NaNo plans were and are just to continue plugging away at it. I have also set a goal of getting one short story written and published next year (that sounds like a tiny goal, I know, but I have only just started writing this year so I'm a total newbie).

I'm still editing four of the last 5 NaNo novels that I wrote. (One I can't open the file without losing all hope in my writing. It's a long story abd a bad year for writing for me.)

I'm amazed at how much I fix normally when I write compared to NaNo, when I just let it flow...

I didn't manage to finish this year's novel...but what I did end up writing makes a very nice start to the prequel of my NaNo 2010 winner. I'm hoping to polish up the 2010 winner, as well as continue work on the 2011 attempt. Eventually I do plan on publishing both these two, as well as the third novel I have planned for the series, which will be drafted in the 2012 NaNo season.

I have until April to write and edit this one, before Script Frenzy starts up...I'm going to reattempt my script from last year (The Matrix meets 28 Days Later). This year I plan to get more than just two scenes done before I lose hope in the whole piece.

My novel grabbed hold of me and won't let go. I was going to put off editing it until last's year's was finished, but that didn't work out. So I'll be finishing the third draft tomorrow. I've also started posting it on my Wordpress blog, while I'm getting ready to publish it on Smashwords. One more draft, I hope, and a cover.

10> that was my goal for 2011, it seems small, but for me it was a big step forward. going through editing and revisions, submissions and rejections, etc was well worth an acceptance letter and afterwards didn't feel small at all! best of luck =)
