Has anyone been checking out the CanLit list on the Giller website? There's some interesting titles there.

I've only read one...I'm ashamed of myself. I've read Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese. And The Virgin Cure is on the TBR shelves.

I don't read much new fiction, so I'm surprised to find I've read one: The Sometimes Lake, by Sandy Bonny. I also have Highly Inappropriate Tales for Young People by Douglas Coupland in my house somewhere.

I've only read one of these titles as well and it was a book I received through Early Reviewers. The Girl in the Box. It was very good. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it. I do have my name on a waiting list at the library for a few of the other titles. I always enjoy following the whole process of the Giller.

Well, I went through the list and have added 25 to my wish list!

Oh I am quite excited to see what makes the Long List on September 4th!

I have read

The Beggar's Opera by Peggy Blair - an interesting mystery, but I don't expect it to make the cut
I am Half Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley. A fun and wonderful read, but not one that will make the cut.
Daughters Who Walk This Path by Yedjide Kilanko. Fabulous story about life for two sisters in Contemporary Nigeria. I hope it makes the cut!
Patient Number 7 by Kurt Palka - I thought this was a fabulous read about Austria in WW11 and I am not sure how it has been so overlooked -
The Flight of Gemma Hardy by Margot Livesy - really enjoyed this - but it's too lighthearted to make the cut
The Virgin Cure - enjoyed it very much, but don't expect it to make the cut

in my TBR pile

Our Daily Bread by Lauren B. Davis
The Carpenter by Matt Lennox.

I'll be adding more to my list -but not 25 , Lynn B! Good for you!

I have several of these titles on my TBR pile but the only one I have already read is The Girl in the Box which I really enjoyed and have been recommending to many people. I am also excited to see who makes the long list tommorrow.
