I just finished Mr. Penumbra as well. I'm interested in what you thought of it.

I'm hearing mixed things about Mr Penumbra, but it does sound mostly interesting so far...

I think that Myles is going to have a little trouble with Mr Kurz family.they might want to take the ashes back.

I also think that he could use his quick wits to get out of the hospital and successfully get those ashes where they need to be.

Finally I think that Myles is going to get the ashes away from Mr. Kurz ashes away from his family and friends before they use the ashes for different reasons.

Oh, I just picked up Sweet Tooth from the library! Did you like it? I generally enjoy McEwan, and am looking forward to this one.

I think this is the best of his I have read since Atonement, the type of story that you need to start over after you get to the end because you miss so much the first time through.

That is good to hear. I have heard so many mixed reviews about that book that I have been putting it off for a while now.

Yes! I'll have to bump it up the queue a bit too, I think there are people waiting behind me a the library for their chance to read it. (Sadly, like buses, library books all come at once and I'm madly working my way through a larger stack than I'm comfortable with.)

What did you think of Tell the Wolves I'm Home? I liked it a lot, but I thought that the book kind of went off the rails when the author kept insisting that the narrator was in love with her uncle, despite no evidence for this from the interactions described in the text.

I really liked this book. I think it was more about the young narrator and her voice as she tries to make sense of her world without much help from the adults around her. I don't think she is a reliable narrator, so I am not sure we are supposed to believe her view of what happened entirely.
