Eugene, OR

I visited Eugene last week. Stopped into the Smith Family Bookstore downtown, thanks to a Yelp tip. (As I had to explain to a friend, it's {Smith Family} Bookstore, not Smith {Family Bookstore}.) A little pricey for used books, and therefore doesn't topple the Chicago Powell's locations from the top of my favorite bookstore chart, but ties City Books in Pittsburgh for a solid second tier. Hey, they have a whole aisle of philosophy, and I found two works worth buying on Whitehead's metaphysics! If that's not your cup of tea, looks like they have a solid literature/fiction section as well.
