I am going on vacation in May and am looking to read some summer/vacation/beach-themed horror books.

A few I am considering are:

Summer Chills - An anthology of summer horror tales.
Neverland
Ghoul
maybe some teen R.L. Stine horror books (Sunburn, Party Summer, The Dead Lifeguard).

Any recommendations?

Locke Those are great recommendations! I haven't read either and this would be a great time to read Summer of Night. I'm a stickler for reading books (and watching movies/TV episodes) in order and have been tempted to read A Winter Haunting in recent winters. Thanks!

It by Stephen King - most of it takes place over the summer holidays.

Neverland by Douglas Clegg is an amazing read. I really enjoyed it.

Any of the Peter Benchly books. Of course, you probably won't want to go in the water afterwards so beware.

Stephen King's Duma Key?

Yes, definitely, Duma Key was brilliant. Also The Haunting by Paul Doherty, New Cthulhu: The recent Weird and Dagon's Bell by Brian Lumley
