It’s sweltering here in Toronto today, a good day for eating ice cream in between dips in the pool or lake or bathtub or just pouring a bottle of cold water over one's head!

I'm going to send some giant wasps your way for choosing a word that can be pronounced two different ways!

Be careful! The police have a system for catching people like you.

oooh, what was I thinking? Upon reflection, it doesn't matter, it's a loose rhyme with both pronunciations.

I've taken an antihistamine, so send your wasps: I'm not a-scared-a you!

He used to play a Grafton plastic saxophone but I don't know if he still does. Free jazz trivia isn't my forte.

Mine neither. In fact, Free Jazz competes closely with nails down a blackboard for my least favourite sound. Also, Crambo's word is not a proper noun.

Don't forget your opera cape. What a dashing figure you'll cut. No one will even notice you're not a Crambo winner.

ISS doesn’t rhyme so it can’t be that. But it’s not any orbiting orb, neither inside nor outside our solar system.

A pretentious (some might say) way of saying "the beginning" is
"the __ __ __ __ __, but whatʻs pretentious about being 4-letters shorter?

CoUld it be "__ __ __"
(used to be colloquiailly pronounced "__ __", leaving out the vowel that is its middle letter): the past tense
of a commonly used verb. The present tense is spelt the same way as this archaic past.

Back when I played the B-flat cornet, I played in groups ranging from four to eight members (just trying to eliminate a bunch of similar words without guessing each one separately).

24rolandperkins

Probably not a monosyllable, but iʻll still try: "__ __ __"

As a crossword clue might say:
"Game" and "Match"ʻs partner

Because of the syllabic stress it doesnʻt rhyme

Very well but I venture to forward "__ __ __ __ __" this time:
Another Latin verb*-turned -Eng-
lish-noun. My addiction to such is the thing
Thatʻs at the root of these guess-
es. I wonʻt give ʻem up, but I will confess

*The Latin meaning is
ʻit lacks".

I've always thought of it as "insert here" which is certainly another way of saying "it lacks".

If itʻs something we do every day,
Iʻm hoping you wonʻt have to say
Itʻs just plain "__ __ __ __ __ __", the ant-
-onym of "pat yourself on the back for" - (you canʻt):
The "Ayenbite of Invit", as
Joyce used
To often quote. Got it? Or confused?
