Did you read it early or late 1970s or was it early 1980s when you read it? I'll have a look later.

I read it probably 10 yrs ago but on an overall basis I read 1970's romance and 1980's so im assuming its in that area but I really don't have much to go on besides her husband plays two parts in the story and you assume she is with another man but in the end it comes out it was her husband the entire time. it was such a great book !

Does the hero (H) feed the heroine (h) oysters? Does he have a beard while pretending to be the other man?

5 > The one I am thinking of I can only remember part of the plot...it's a historical. Is the one you read contemporary?

its historical and as to the other question earlier yes I belive he has a beard but I think she went blind or was in an accident something ? there is some reason why she doesn't know its her husband...as to the other book if its not the same id like to know of it as well if possible. The oyster one I think she was sneaking away pirating on a ship while hes away pirating and at first they don't know the other is pirating but eventually it comes out. ?

7 > I'm combing my list of historicals for a possible match. I've eliminated the Malory books by Johanna Lindsey and anything by Arnette Lamb. I thought it might be something from Brenda Joyce or Jude Deveraux. This tag mash might help: http://www.librarything.com/tag/blind,+romance. I think you maybe be right about the oyster one...they are both pirating without the other knowing. I think she's hurt in a skirmish between the two pirate crews. GAH!! I have read too much romance and never made note of plot points for reference.

OK I'm here. Not this one as it's the woman who pretends to be a blind man's fiancee. He became blind due to an accident.
The Devil's Bride (Mills & Boon #1535)
by Margaret Pargeter

Not the below.
An Eagle Swooped (Harlequin Presents #37)
by Anne Hampson
Accident blinded Paul, Lucinda walked out on him, Tessa pretended to be Lucinda.

Probably not this.
Young Doctor Yerdley (Harlequin Romance #51145)
by Anne Durham
Kerry blinded, fiance Howard killed, doctor impersonated Howard for a short time.

I think one of his names is andre. I think she fell off the ship ? something like that caused her accident the book has like two separate parts the first with her husband and then her with this other man andre ? somehow she ends back with her 1st husband and he is jealous of how she is with the "other" him .... the end she finds out it was the same man.... ugh but none of the above.

It takes persistence. Sorry I'm not much help, romance books aren't my thing. You could try searching with a publisher keyword in Google books but depends if content is searchable and you use terms that bring it up. Try finding several romance fiction sites as they have either reviews or summaries.

although they all sound good :) none of them are it although the double identity in heather grahams is close. so far I haven't even been able to find that so getting closer hopefully. in the story she is with the husband first and then the captain it doesn't depict him as a pirate though

So I just finished fern michaels book and it is NOT the one with the oysters so maybe the oyster book is the one I am looking for :) still searching

Here's a listing of some sea-themed romance books. Do any of the titles ring a bell?:

Caribbean:

Also, you can search here by the leading man's name. There are lots of options under Andre, Andres, Andrew, Nathan, and Nathaniel.

Sorry, I don't really read romance novels, so I'm not a specific help. This one sounds interesting, though. I hope you find the title.

I am going to make an effort to go through all my romance over the next couple weeks and identify unique descriptors for tagging. Maybe I will luck out and find the title I am thinking is similar...and maybe it will be your book, sheenawesterman.
