A brief sample, as of February 2015, from the University of California (Melvyl) interlibrary catalog. It is incredible that none of these are touchstoning in LT currently:

I found a recent paperback on UK shelves Doughnut Economics an interesting read.

Thanks for the suggestion ... an interesting book on 21st century economics ... I sure didn't see that coming. The title on the book cover looks more like Donut Economie. So if librarians don't find it in their acquisitions catalog under the first title, try the second spelling.

A forthcoming academic title (a 2 volume set, to be published Nov. 2, 2018) is: Handbook of Energy-Aware and Green Computing. Pub. name is in the LT touchstone at right. Authors are Ishfaq Ahmad and Sanjay Ranka ... they are the co-editors of the International Green Computing Conference. These authors are not familiar names, but their qualifications on this deep subject are extremely impressive ... they are the real deal. Price on the hardcover looks to be over $100.00, and $76 or so for the paperback. 1284 p. for the 2 volumes. ISBN-10: 1138198714 ISBN-13: 978-1138198715

Note: From August 2018 forward, I will indicate my highly recommended titles by including their ISBN numbers on these LT academic, zeitgeist, and children's acquisition pages.

From the WorldCat database, an academic global climate map for planet Earth:

https://www.hydrol-earth-syst-sci.net/11/1633/2007/hess-11-1633-2007.html

Among works of fiction, the new genre of climate horror has emerged, according to Danielle Trussoni, writing in the NYTimes Book Review for June 2, 2019. The earliest example of climate horror in fiction I can think of is Waterworld. What about the Mad Max films? Danielle's current example is the new book The Nest (Valancourt, paper, $16.99):

>8 MaureenRoy: Can you link to Danielle Trussoni's article? I'm not having any success.

There are huge copyright restrictions and access restrictions on the NYTimes website, especially their Book Review section. See below for a full list of Trussoni's recommended titles. Your local public library probably has yesterday's Sunday NYTimes (June 2, 2019), including the book review section.

Here is the full list of Danielle Trussoni's recommended titles:

That article is titled Horror, and it is on pp. 38-39 of the Sunday, June 2, 2019, NYTimes Book Review:

The Hunger, by Alma Katsu (Putnam, paper, $16.00).
Little Darlings, by Melanie Golding (Crooked Lane, $26.99).
Song for the Unraveling of the World, by Brian Evenson (Coffee House, paper, $16.95).
The Nest (Valancourt, paper, $16.99).
When Darkness Loves Us, by Elizabeth Engstrom (Valancourt, paper, $16.99).
The Laws of the Skies, by Gregoire Courtois (Coach House, paper, $16.95).
Inspection, by Josh Malerman (Del Rey, $27.00).
Flight or Fright: 17 Turbulent Tales, ed. Stephen King and Bev Vincent (Scribner, paper, $17.00).

Please note: I did *not* list these titles above, because *none* of these titles (except for The Nest) have *anything* to do with a climate crisis.

The Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL), located in the Smithsonian Libraries in Washington, DC, was formed in 2007 as a consortium of institutions that makes taxonomic information available through its digital portal:

https://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/

Thus far, over 148,003 titles have been scanned, for a time span ranging from the 15th century through the present. Over 180 million species are included. Most users are scientists, although its diverse group of other users includes artists, historians, librarians, archivists, museum curators, educators, students, conservationists, and citizen scientists.
