I haven't been reading too much outside of schoolwork lately. The only relevant stuff I've read lately is The Siren Queen (apparently the search/touchstone database is still catching up -- here's the link). Found a copy in the wild some time ago and finally got around to it. Not badly written, and the main story line generally stays far enough away from the people I read about the most to maintain suspension of disbelief.

New blood in the group - yey :)
I am on a hiatus from Elizabeth related books but that rarely lasts long :)

I'm reading Elizabeth I by Anne Somerset. It is good so far and a very readable history.

I think that one is my favorite bio of Queen Elizabeth.

I am currently reading Allison Weir's Henry VIII and his Court, which has turned out to be full of fascinating trivia. Not Elizabethan, but Tudor, at least.

Thanks for reviving the group, AnnaClaire!

>4 staffordcastle: I like all of Weir's Tudor books - so have fun reading that one.

This is the first one of her Tudor books that I have read. I have her book on the Princes in the Tower, too.

Ah, that one.
I like her style there (and in general) but I think that she is conveniently ordering and presenting the facts to suit the theory she started with. But then books on that specific topic tend to get into that mode so she is not worse than most historians on the topic.

True. I haven't read that one yet. It certainly is an issue that causes people to take sides!
