I have good feelings about the outcome of this round, but the word is not optimism.

I'm feeling a little tired and emotional! Pardon my French!

Tid - And which of those 12 steps are you working? Sorry, we must remain anonymous. No, Crambo's word is not alcoholism.

That's it! I've had enough. I'm going to start my own Crambo group. Who's with me?

Please select my nephew as the new Crambo leader! #3 was a guess. Did you know that nephew was an oblique reference to an illegitimate son?

The 11th and 8th century breaks,
East-West, in the Church were not a Ref-
ormation, but a __ __ __ __ __ __: it takes
More than just change at the top, bef-
-ore you have really "reform".
Theologs out there, am I right , orʻm
I wrong? On second thought dontʻ ans-
-wer that! just tell me if, by chance.,
Iʻve hit on the Crambo! Word --
One of the few rhymers that to me occurred.

It looks like Roland is following me (#5), so I'm sure everything will be fine?

Whatever happens, everything will work out ok. And if it doesn't, that's ok too.

Yes, I know that #3 is a guess, but I can't think of the word.
#6 - The Crambo Company frowns upon nepotism.
#5 - The country of Crambo prohibits anarchism.
#9 - Sorry that you feel this way, but Crambo's word is not defeatism. Not that it really matters.

Still pondering #3, #7, and #8.

Alphabetical no's: alcoholism, anarchism, defeatism, nepotism, optimism.

No, not defeatism - I'm actually ok come rain or shine. If it rains, I bear up, and never complain.

// #5 was not anarchism. I suspect that #5 & #7 are the same. I suspect #8, #9 and (of course) #11 are the same as each other as well. //

// I think I know what #5 is - they should have formed a pop group called the ______ Sisters! It would never have worked though, they would have split after their first gig... //

I can see clearly now ... NOT!!!

#5 and #7 - Our doctrinal differences may be dividing us, but Crambo's word is not "schism."
Alpha no's: alcoholism, anarchism, defeatism, nepotism, optimism, schism.

Back later. Have to go get a massage now.

With respect to 11, I think Marcus Aurelius would get it...

19kathi
Sept. 12, 2013, 5:15 pm

#9, #11, #18 - Although Atticus failed to approve these philosophical pretensions, Marcus Aurelius embraced stoicism. Crambo, however, does not.

Alpha no's: alcoholism, anarchism, defeatism, nepotism, optimism, schism, stoicism.

So far, all of the proposed answers have lacked the proper number of syllables.

I'm publicly demonstrating my befuddlement here, but I can assure you that neither cronyism nor separatism bring us to the end of the round.

Alpha no's: alcoholism, anarchism, cronyism, defeatism, nepotism, optimism, schism, separatism, stoicism.

Hi kathi #20, In which case cynicism was also wrong, as I expected. Maybe we should go back to being little children?

This is not a hint, just a real fact! I'm frantically preparing for a business trip and going to be away till Tuesday, September 24th, and I'm not taking my laptop. Enjoy the hiatus.

Technical question:

Iʻm trying to find a Group that has disappeared from all menus on my screen. Itʻs not real old -- still active in the past few weeks. I donʻt even remember the exact name of it --something like "LIST FIVE BOOKS. . .". Each one posting lists five titles
(fiction and non fiction both allowed) on a particular topic/ The title of the sub-group (very metaphorical sometimes) gives the topic
of the List.

Anyone know?

I think Thomas Jefferson was on the right track insofar as religion is concerned...

There was once a word with nine syllables that people used to test their spelling. It couldn't be that , could it - or is it too negative?

Yes. Many thanks for the link. (I see now that I had somehow gotten it onto "Ignore Group"; so I have
clicked on "Stop Ignoring"
and "Join Group".)
