Oh good I do have a book with a K title: Kiss, by Ed McBain. I also have a few books by Julie Kaewert to reread.

For Y I could read a play: Yesterday the Children Were Dancing, by Gratien Gélinas.

Am planning on reading the following: Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler and Don't Quit Your Day Job by Sonny Brewer.

I have Knots and Crosses and The Yard.

At least seeing this thread reminded me that I need to post the "J" I just finished today.

I'm thinking of The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. Maybe The Shadow Year by Hannah Richell as well. I am not always the best at planning my reading though something else always seems to jump out at me.

I'm thinking of tackling one of my Sharon K Penman tomes for this month's challenge.

I have The Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo by Kerrelyn Sparks and Waiting to Be Heard by Amanda Knox. I'm on the waitlist for a couple of ebooks by Lisa Kleypas - hopefully they'll be in before Thanksgiving.

No ideas for Y.

I've started Growth of the Soil by Knut Hamsun.

I finished my first November AlphaCat for "Y", You Are One of Them by Elliott Holt.

Yesterday I completed Young Bloods by Simon Scarrow. My first Y book for the month. It is historical fiction, telling the story of Napoleon and Wellington (the first in a quartet).

Finished my Y book - Don't Quit Your Day Job - really enjoyed this book.

I've got some possibilities for K and Y books in my physical and virtual TBR piles, but I'm now starting Barbara Pym's "An Academic Question", recording it here since if there was a thread for the year long Q and X books, I can't find it.

I finished one K book, Growth of the Soil by Knut Hamsun. It was really good, in an understated way. Onto the next one, A Hologram for the King.

I finished A Hologram for the King, which was weird. Now I'm reading God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater by Kurt Vonnegut and not expecting it to be any less weird.

I finished my Y book for November: The Yiddish Policemen's Union by Michael Chabon. It's also a Hugo winner and fits this month's AwardsCAT.

I read The Girl in the Green Sweater by Krystyna Chiger. It is a memoir of a young polish jew girl's survival of WWII. Now I am reading The Shadow Year. I probably only have 100 pages to go so I had a lot of trouble putting it down last night as some plot twists are starting to be revealed!

I read The History of Love by Nicole Krauss and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce.

I read A Small Place by Jamaica Kincaid. I wish I had tried some of her fiction instead.

And one last K book: King Solomon's Mines by H. Rider Haggard.
