Dear Group,

I just received The Sophisticated Cat , a truely lovely book.
This led me athinking. I got many recommendations, for Cat books specifically, from members of our group or by looking at their libraries. Thus I wondered if it is possible to set up a "Group" library. Similar to our pictures.
I have a vague memory that there used to be something like that in the past? Perhaps lilithcat might know. She has been around since "before Moses was a boy" :-)

If interested I will repost this idea to the RSI group.

ETA. spelling, and touchstone NOW working.

There ain't nothing in this world that I don't know.
I saw Peter, Paul, and Moses
Playing ring-around-the-roses
And I'll whup the guy what says it isn't so.'

You could create a book list for cat books. Home page for the lists feature is here. There may already be a cat list in there somewhere; I didn't check.

Thanks #3, I have never been very comfortable with 'lists'. They are clumsy and I would much prefer suggestions added to my favourite group. I guess I would like a library specific to our group, where members could add suggestions maybe via 'touchstones', which could of course be edited/deleted only by the group founder, lilithcat, and of course the poster.
I like the idea of reading 'book suggestions' posted just for/by us.

ETA. Still not worth posting to RSI? Err. by the way, why have you not yet joined our group,

4: So you are thinking it would be sort of like the legacy libraries, in essence it would have its own profile, but could only be edited by members of this group?

Hi anna (#5), I guess that would be one way to go. I see it as just another link (like add a picture to our group Gallery) where members (or anyone, I suppose that should be up to the group administrator) could add their suggestions for books relevant to the group. I can imagine that the Administrator should have the power to delete irrelevant suggestions or spam. Another 'pony' might be to have the ability to sort the book list by title/author. I imagine this sort of book list (specific to a group) might be useful to many groups. Although I do wonder how a group like the SF people would manage it.

I don't know of any current way to create a group library, though it's not a bad idea. Why not post a request in RSI?
