The old thread was loading slowly, so here's a fresh new thread for the latest in cat funnies.
2Mr.Durick
Cuter than funny, but maybe a good way to start the thread:
The Lion King — the kitten version
The evil lion didn't look all that evil to me.

Ancient Garfield, where Jon is talking to one of the few other humans in the strip:
"Did you have a pet when you were growing up?"
"Sure! We had cat, cat, cat, and cat."
"Didn't you name them?"
"What's the point of naming something that won't come when it's called?"

47> the more relaxed, nonjudgmental audience of cats helps students to sustain their focus
Nonjudgmental? Cats? Seriously? If they're nonjudgmental, it's because they're ignoring you! LOL.
Great idea though. I've heard about it with dogs, but not cats.

Cats with Sound Effects! Many are at least metaphorically correct, but the weird ones are amusing, too.

Last week I attended the Third Annual Minneapolis Internet Cat Video Festival. Thousands of cat lovers sitting outside watching cat videos on a huge screen.
Lil Bub was there!
The playlist can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5aJYoXLOMo10eRvbu4NlTT8DoE0m6wbk
This year's videos were programmed by cat video producer Will Braden, creator of the Henri Le Chat Noir videos.
Enjoy!

Poor baby, not even any whiskers. I don't understand bald cats. Fur is so soft and beautiful!

#84 - I REALLY need one of these!!! I've actually been thinking about how to try to rig one to stop the scratching at the bedroom door throughout the night!
86Pebblesgmc
fuzzy I want one (grin:)

When my dad stayed with us, he slept on the couch. I gave him a small spray bottle with water in it. When the cats bothered him or started their play/fighting at night, he'd squirt them. The behavior stopped. ;)

Somebody killed the hummingbird who used to visit our little atrium/enclosed patio. I think I know who. We are sad.
93fuzzi
>90 IreneF: unfortunately, that's a hazard of outdoor cats. They have the hunting instinct.

>93 fuzzi:
She's not an outdoor cat. The atrium is surrounded by the house; like a courtyard, but very small. We did name her Diana, however, so perhaps we are partly to blame.
Fortunately, another hummer--also male--has showed up.
The indoor/outdoor cat sticks to rodents. She brought a few live rats into the house until we made a rule about keeping the window to the backyard closed.

>94 IreneF: Gotcha. I'd love an enclosed atrium, or even a screened-in porch.
As a child, my Tigerlily used to bring dead mice as offerings, and leave them on the doormat.
One time she got a whole nest of baby rabbits... :(

Many years ago I had a cat door,
Now my kitties only go out on a leash.
That said ...
anybody else every step on half of a cold dead mouse in the middle of the night.
I was trying not to scream and throw up at the same time..shudder!!!!!

>97 Pebblesgmc: Never actually stepped on anything, but years ago when we had outdoor cats and a cat flap, one of the cats, Fog, came in one rainy evening, making the oddest howling noise. When I investigated, I discovered that he had been hunting and had brought a baby hare in to play with indoors where it was dry. I took the as-yet uninjured hare away and carried it back to the nearby ravine in a shoebox, and let it go.
Next morning there were baby hare guts in the front hall at the bottom of the stairs...

>101 Pebblesgmc: No, we kept the cat flap in that house. Never installed one in the next house, though, and our current cats are 99% indoors only.
104NorthernStar
>97 Pebblesgmc: My cats use the kitchen window to go in and out in the summer. They sometimes leave offerings in the hallway or the bathroom (where their food dish lives) and I've stepped on dead things they've brought in more than once - nasty, especially when it crunches. Really helps to put glasses on if getting up in the middle of the night. Sometimes they catch-and-release; I had a vole in the house for about 4 days before I could catch the poor thing and let it go. Other times they brought in live birds, shrews, squirrel, a chipmunk, and a flying squirrel.

What's funny is the cat seems to be looking out the window instead of at the mouse. Must be a great hiding place.
157anna_in_pdx
I think that cat in 155 is pretty darned smart. And agile!
158Pebblesgmc
They need a water balloon fastened to that door knob in 155.
