Poet Ned O'Gorman died March 7 at the age of 84. He was the author of The Other Side of Loneliness, The Night of the Hammer and The Buzzard and the Peacock.

Theatre critic Martin Gottfried died March 6 at the age of 80. He was the author of Broadway Musicals (Abradale) and Arthur Miller: His Life and Work.

Author Joe McGinniss died March 10 at the age of 71. A few of his books in addition to the controversial Fatal Vision include The Selling of the President 1968 and The Miracle of Castel di Sangro.

Author Thomas Hinde nee Thomas Chitty, died on March 7 at the age of 88. A few of his books include Capability Brown, The Domesday Book: England's Heritage and with his wife The Great Donkey Walk.

Journalist Matthew Power collapsed and died of heat exhaustion in Uganda on March 10 at the age of 39. He was a frequent contributor to the annual anthologies The Best American Travel Writing.

Suffolk historian Norman Scarfe died March 2 at the age of 90. He was the author of Suffolk Landscape and Essex (Shell Guides).

Journalist Joel Brinkley died March 11 at the age of 61. He was the author of Cambodia's Curse and Defining Vision.

Comedian David Brenner died March 15 at the age of 78. He was the author of Nobody Ever Sees You Eat Tuna Fish and I Think There's a Terrorist in my Soup.

Show business reporter Bob Thomas died March 14 at the age of 92. He wrote Walt Disney: An American Original and Joan Crawford: A Biography.

The legal half of Cooking With Two Fat Ladies, Clarissa Dickson Wright died March 14 at the age of 66. A few of her other books include Spilling the Beans and Two Fat Ladies Ride Again.

British politician Tony Benn died March 14 at the age of 88. He was the author of Free at Last!: Diaries and Dare to be a Daniel.

American occult magician Donald Michael Kraig died on March 17 at the age of 62. He was a former editor of Fate Magazine, a well-known speaker and writer, and an acquisitions editor and blogger for Llewellyn Publications. His best know work was Modern Magick.

Indian journalist and diplomat Khushwant Singh died March 20 at the age of 99. A few of his many books include Train to Pakistan and Not a Nice Man to Know.

Economist Murray L. Weidenbaum died March 20 at the age of 87. He was the author of Bamboo Network, Small Wars, Big Defense and Business and Government in the Global Marketplace.

Music critic Joseph Kerman died March 17 at the age of 89. A few of his books include Listen and Opera as Drama.

Expert on the game of bridge, Albert Dormer died March 18 at the age of 88. A few of his books include The New Complete Book of Bridge and Dormer on Deduction.

Medieval historian and ornithologist Richard Vaughan died March 4 at the age of 86. A few of his books include Charles the Bold and Philip the Bold.
