Hi, I am a member of bookcrossers with the sign in name of leeler. I really enjoy releasing books, but am getting a little discouraged. It doesn't seem like the majority of my book are being found or people just don't log on to register them. Any suggestions on where to leave books that would get more feedback.

You might want to try posting this in the Release Techniques forum over on the BookCrossing site. You'll probably get a lot more feedback there.

To me, there are no great places. It's all chance.

Two other BookCrossers and I participated in a book fair this past April in which we actually gave away (handed the books to people) over 200 books and TOLD the recipients how to journal the books. Only about 4% of these people actually made journal entries. :-(

I personally got tired of so little feedback on books I liked. Now, at least for the books I like, I'll give them to my friends or send them out on bookrays or bookrings. I get way more satisfaction from that.

Also, keep in mind that finders aren't necessarily going to drop everything to run and log in their find. I've heard back on books *months* after their release when the original finder re-released it in turn, and I've had leap-frogging responses, when the finder of the re-released book posted.

Actually, I find the belated responses even more exciting.

I've had two catches over THREE YEARS later - it's the joy of being a long-term BookCrosser!

I have about 20 % wild catches. I get good results from where people linger - bus stops, a statue on campus...

Keep going - you never know when you will surprise someone with the joy of literature or hear from a book years later!!!
