SEPTEMBER ROOT - Progress Thread

In August, we fell 12 books short of our goal. We're getting closer to catching up.






I've set up these tickers (password ROOT) that everyone can show their progress toward a comprehensive goal for all of us. Wouldn't it be great if we could together reach our group goal in 2015? IN 2014 WE READ NEARLY 4000 BOOKS OFF OUR OWN SHELVES! That's awesome! But WE can do better!!

I would like to ask for your assistance keeping the totals in 2015.
Please post your personal tickers in the ticker thread or post your monthly progress here at the end of the month so that I can gather the numbers in one thread as much as possible. THOSE PEOPLE WITH A © NEXT TO THEIR NAMES actually have a ticker but it hasn't been copied to the ticker thread. Those with a & next to their name, I can't find either a ticker on the ticker thread or an individual thread. I definitely need help in those areas.

Don't be swept away by the cooling autumn breezes and flying leaves! Cuddle up with a cup of cocoa and read a book at the same time! We still need to read those ROOTs!

The goal for September is 2,964! Let's hit 3,000 this month.

I think this year will definitely be the year that we achieve our goal and maybe even surpass it!

I updated my tickers right after you posted the September thread so I'm actually at 39/50 instead of 38/50 books.

I just got a chance to add up my totals today, cyderry! Sorry for the inconvenience, but I read 3 ROOTs in August; 53 ROOTs so far for the year. Ugh! My reading pace was absolutely crawling this month - but in much better news, NO NEW SEEDS PLANTED FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST!!!

My numbers are correct and 2 more ROOT's on the go!

Well, I just finished my first ROOT for September - The Sight of the Stars by Belva Plain. Yes, it's a reread, but one from almost five years ago. ;)

I actually read 3 ROOTs for August, Celi but forgot to update my ticker for the last one. My total should be 43 not 42 going into September. I see that there were a couple of other corrections as well so we are actually only 10 books short of our goal for August - not bad!

Thank you everyone! I do feel like it was a bit of a cheat, as some of the books were so short, but hey they are books that have been read, and are no longer TBRs, so I should celebrate that!

I can't remember the pin for my ticker (pregnancy brain is a thing, I swear!!!), but I am at 20 roots out of 30. I don't know if you can just manually change my count, but it pretty much makes up for the group's deficit :)

I have finally got my first root for the month, Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. I loved it. There is a reason why some books become classics. The language is wonderful, so many words I have never come across before. Back to the bookshelves to decide which next.

I managed to read one book in September (which is actually good since it was in Japanese and I haven't been reading lately) which brings my roots to 40 out of 50. Good thing I read so much the first half of the year or my goal would have been way out of reach!
