I've been unable to reach the BookMooch site for about 3 days (it's now Thurs Sept. 3 around 12:30 pm CDT). Does anybody have any idea what's going on?

I was on BM earlier today and each of the last several days. However, it's timing out now and, when I did get on, it ran really, really slow.
3MyriadBooks
It was running really slow for me yesterday, too. I had to exit and re-enter the site a couple times when the loading pages stalled.

Thanks! I tried a couple of more times and did get on to print the label for a book I had agreed to send. Hope things are back to normal soon--I was expecting the worst.

It's been slow to load even when I can get in. Esp. frustrating when trying to get an address for an overseas mooch.

It has been verrrrrry slow for me as well, when it works.

Today I noticed that I would get in eventually, and then each page would load really slowly, but eventually it would load. It reminds me of when I had dialup and kept a book with me at the computer to read between page loadings!

I saw this posted on another message board:
"I contacted BM about the lag time we were experiencing. I wrote,
"a few of us are experiencing very slow lag on your site past few days. we are in different states across the country... is this site wide? we wonder how long till it's fixed?"
They responded fast, with this:
Hello,
It is not just a few of you, it is 100% of people trying to use Bookmooch this week.
This is the most extended period of server issues in our site's nine year history, several days thus far
We have had a very good track record of up time and good server speed in recent years, better than many vastly larger websites, in spite of being a free service, but all sites have technical issues to some degree eventually.
We regularly have to contend with viruses, web crawlers, hacker intrusions, etc... as well as hardware and connectivity issues.
We are doing some serious work on our servers this week to discover and address the problem. So page loads will be slower than normal, particularly in the evening hours (pacific time), when page loads are long enough to time out, and so to prevent access altogether.
Feel free to forward our response to your friends, as not all are able to write in if they are trying to reach the site when it is timing out.
We aim to fix these problems by early next week,
Bookmooch Support"
So....at least they are working on it :)
edited to add: since this letter was sent last week, hopefully "early next week" is very soon (this week)

Thanks very much for re-posting this info. Is there any other way to reach BookMooch support except through the site?

Here's the latest at the BookMooch site, Mon 7Sep2015:

I was on vacation last week, totally "off the grid" at the Burning Man festival.
And of course.... the one time I can't use the internet is the one time that BookMooch decided to act up. Usually (in past years) this has been caused by the launch of some new search engine that maniacally crawls all of BookMooch, thus slowing it down a lot.
I'm back in the real world now, and will shepherd BookMooch back to happiness!

I hope the Big Boss had a good time at Burning Man, and I'm happy all seems to be working again.

And it's down again.
It's been a good 11 days, moochwise, though. Hope this is just a small glitch.
