Is circumcision treated in J and E sources, or is it mostly part of the P source Abrahamic Covenant?
All I could find of circumcision in J is Zipporah (Ex 4.24) and the rape of Dinah (Gen 34). And the reasons that Gen 34 is attributed to J are not clear to me. I don't see any reason not to attribute the entire chapter (Gen 34) to P.
Perhaps is Gen 34 is not from the J source it is possible to associate Ex 4.24 as an attempt by J to explain the origin of circumcision with Moses.
