Super Mutant Magic Academy was a standout from Jillian Tamaki, a collection of her comics from one of the authors of This One Summer. Very funny and worthwhile.

I'm now reading the second volume of The Fade Out, which is as good as the first. We were just talking about what an impressive team Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips are for crime/noir graphic novels.

Yay! Finally my stupid foot is not broken & I can go to the library & pick up pounds & pounds of comics!

I've watched the latest Fantastic Four movie. Besides all the bad reviews, it is fair translation of the Ultimate Fantastic Four with good visuals and dynamics. I think it was a good film with only 2 major downpoints: Doctor Doom's look and the lack of action.

I've finished Agents of Atlas, a mini-series that picks a thred from What if...? in which chatacters from Marvel's 1950's join in a super-hero team. There is no need for previous info to enjoy the story, which has mistety and action and is healthly anti-climatic.

I've also finished the The Wicked + The Divine, Vol.3: Commercial Suicide. While Jamie McKelvie is away, playing in another sandbox (actually drawing the third installment of Phonogram), Gillen recruited some new and laureate artists (Tula Lotay, Brandon Graham, among others) to make a third transitional act of TW+TD. In this book, each chapter is (almost) dedicated to one character but intertwining a story and broadening the picture of the mystery around the gods and their murders.

I am in this bandwagon until the end!

This a Galley very well received from Netgalley.

Just finished Vinland Saga, a manga about Vikings.

I'm on the third and last volume of The Fade Out. I've really liked this Hollywood noir by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips.

I've finished Young Avengers: Style > Substance by Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie, the same team that brought you The Wicked + The Divine. While the first volume had a book in the fashion of Avengers, this one is more like New Teen Titans on ecstasy. The dynamics are great and the group tensions are funny; but there is adventure.
McKelvie is better than ever. The last panel of first chapter (actually a splash page) is A level horror and the double page of the Marvel Boy's attack, in David Aja/ Chris Ware's fashion, makes this book worth reading.

Got a copy of Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham from Amazon last week. Hoping to get to it today or tomorrow.

Oh my Gosh! I' m on the sixth episode of Daredevil's second season. It is breathtaking.
If I survive to final episode, maybe we can discuss it.

Yeah, I read it earlier this week and liked it. Not my favorite Batman comic (or my favorite Lovecraftian one), but pretty entertaing nonetheless. I'll try to post a review of it this weekend.

Batgirl is cute, but isn't working all that well for me. It seems to be targeted to teens in a way I'm not connecting with.
