I don't know. For a time I worked on the Serçe Limanı shipwreck (a Medieval glass wreck), and studied what was know about ancient glassworks. Some quick Googling refreshed my memory. The glassworks at Jalame are dated to the latter half of the 4c. There's a lot of other similar sites in Israel alone ( http://www.persee.fr/doc/mom_1274-6525_2000_act_33_1_1873 ).

There's probably some subtle distinction being drawn here. But the centrality of Israel in glassmaking is hardly news.

I do have a pair of earrings allegedly made with Roman glass found in Israel. ;)

Yeah, so do I. Museum Company? I think they're from Jalame. I looked into it when I got them.
