Over half the world's population live in countries that have undergone a revolution in the twentieth century. Revolutions usually follow a crisis that grows out of social unrest when government is either inept or corrupt. It usually follows a common pattern, and having seized power, revolutionaries must follow certain rules for success.
Based on a century of fieldwork, this is all set out in a recent book, 'Crowds and Leadership:the Art of Influencing Crowds'. read it.

so tell me more about crowds and leadership.i did a search on this website and it did not come up.
im interested because i admit im much more influenced by marx's explaanation of dialectics and class struggle.ffor me failure of a particular government would not by itself lead to change, let alone revolutionary change.the history of the 20th century illustrates this under capitalism.if only it were true and we would not have to put up with those who rule over us now..in britain, the usa, france, germany, japan, libya, egypt.nor would we the revolutionaries(or those who call ourselves reviolutionaries)would also not be debating or bickjering or working hard for change-i wish we could leave it to history but its people, and in my view primarilly the working class that will lead that change.we will also have a responsibilty to work for a genuinely better society, not just imposing it on others

see my posting on libraries in revolutionarythinker lostinthelibrary.i see the cutsin local libraries in any community in the face of cuts and austerity as part of the barbarism that goes with their attempts to solve their crisis at our expense.if they cant run their system,we should not accept their solutions at our expense but revolt, reject and throw out their system based on power, profits and exploitation.we are perfectly capable of a revolution in which we,everyone simply get on with our own lives and simple human imagination and creativity.it is their self indulgence in power and profits that does the rest of us so much wrong
