I didn't see where we had a thread for 2013. I suspect it takes a while for the numbers to get compiled.

According to USA Today http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/books/2014/01/15/usa-today-best-selling-books...
the top books for 2013 were these:

7. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
8. Allegiant by Veronica Roth Ms. Roth was having a good year.
9. Killing Jesus by Bill O'Reilly

With the obvious exception of Gatsby, I don't see any fiction titles I'd guess to be "one for the ages".

edit: didn't see The Book Thief, which may retain legs. And Galbraith (Rowling) may hang through a few coming decades by association.

Sadly, some of these I've never even heard of and I do try to keep up.

Slim pickings, there. I have read all of O'Reilly's books except for that one; for which I prefer to get my info from the source!;)
