I'm reading O'Callaghan's Reconquest and Crusade in Medieval Spain. As the title suggest, O'Callaghan emphasizes the crusading character of the Reconquista.

Last week I knocked off Arms, Economics and British Strategy (A+), a nice synthesis of the scholarly analysis of the last twenty years or so that rebuts Correlli Barnett's critique of British state failure.

I've been quite busy this month, between knocking off Meteor I vs V1 Flying Bomb: 1944 (A), Self-Propelled Anti-Aircraft Guns of the Soviet Union (A), Italian Artillery of WWII (B+), The Imjin and Kapyong Battles, Korea, 1951 (A), Corps Commanders of the Bulge (A). These were all well written, useful, books but Paul MacKenzie's examination of just how British and Commonwealth troops fought in the battles in question was particularly enlightening.

I'm reading Neptune: The Allied Invasion of Europe and the D-Day Landings by Craig Symonds. It's pretty good but there's not a lot here, so far, that's really new or not covered in the already massive literature on the Normandy invasion.

Just finished Bridge Too Far, and thought it was excellent
