Since I recently found this group and am joining in late here, my stats will begin in September with a goal of reading 8 additional books that I own.* To date, I have read 13 books I own but have only been tracking that as part of a personal tbr challenge.
Well, I am excited to be participating here! Also, I am hopeful that doing this challenge with a group will encourage me to read even more of the sadly ignored books that I have purchased throughout the years with the best of intentions.
*(Any books I own including rereads of currently owned books will be counted.)

Welcome! I find this group an excellent motivator to read my own books. Enjoy the challenge!

Thanks for the warm welcome. :)
5MissWatson
Welcome and good luck with your ROOTing!
6This-n-That
Thanks! Happy Rooting to you all, too.

Thanks, Jackie!

Thanks so much, Connie and Sace! I am looking forward to participating the remainder of this year and in 2017. Never too early to plan ahead!! :)

What a lovely picture! I think I may do something similar on my thread. You're an inspiration.
I'm looking forward to seeing your September Achievements.

>14 Sace: Awww... thank you, Sace!! How kind.
>15 Jackie_K: At one point I took a college level course covering basic html coding, so I know just enough to get by, lol.
I noticed that Rabbitprincess posted a very thorough explanation of how to post a picture in her thread, just in case that would be helpful to you. :) http://www.librarything.com/topic/209051 (Message 9)

Thanks for the link to the rabbitprincess instructions and many thanks to rabbitprincess for posting them. I've figured out pics, but I had never thought of doing a screenshot of a particular collection.

Hello & welcome to the group!!
>13 This-n-That: I also love that picture!
>15 Jackie_K: >16 This-n-That: >17 rabbitprincess: I was going to say that ;) .... And Jackie - it seems complicated at first, but once you start doing it, it becomes really easy pretty quickly :)

Thanks, Tess. :)

I know I have a serious problem when I chose to buy a book because it is on sale for $1.99 and I can now use it for this challenge, versus borrowing it through the library. (Btw, the book is The Accidental Tourist.)

>23 This-n-That: Now you can see just how enabling this group can be! :D
25This-n-That
Ha!! So true, Jackie.
26This-n-That
So, I have completed 3 ROOTs for September, which surpassed my personal goal of 2 books. I don't think I'll be able fit in another this month, as I have started in on a 700+ page book that a friend is lending to me for a few weeks. We shall see though ...

31This-n-That
>30 Sace: Thanks so much. You have never read Anne of Green Gables? Oh, I do hope you have an opportunity to read it at some point. The TV mini-series version is also a treat to watch; at least I thought it was, lol. :)
32Jackie_K
>30 Sace: >31 This-n-That: I've never read it either. I have the first book (AoGG) on my eReader, and most of the others are on Project Gutenberg. But I decided to not download them till I'd read AoGG, in case I didn't like it. Not that I've ever seen a bad review of it, as far as I can remember.
33This-n-That
>32 Jackie_K: That sounds like a good plan. I hope you enjoy the first book, even if you decide not to read the entire series.
34Sace
>31 This-n-That: I've had the first book on my shelf for ages. It's a ROOT! What am I waiting for???
35This-n-That
>34 Sace: Serendipity!! There is no time like the present.
36Sace
>35 This-n-That: I've taken the first step. I've located it on my (chaotic) shelves, pulled it out and placed it on the TBR table next to my bed. :-)
37This-n-That
Ha! Good for you, Sace. :)

I just read Anne of Green Gables and Anne of AvonLea just this past summer. Both books about 200 pages and I did enjoy them. However, that is enough for me! I'm not really a serial reader, except for Outlander.

>38 Tess_W: I can be a serial reader, but I do find that I peter out after about 3 or 4.

>38 Tess_W: >39 Sace: Same here, with a notable exception for the Harry Potter series. I did read the entire Anne of Green Gables series, but that was many years ago.
41Sace
>40 This-n-That: Agreed. Harry Potter was a series I never got tired of :-)

ROOTing Goals and Achievements for November:
*Noting that set aside Winter Solstice but may resume at a later date.

Great job w/ your progress! Only 2 more to go!
I like your November goals -- great winter reads :)
Have you read A Christmas Carol before?

>44 avanders: Thanks so much!! I had fairly moderate reading goals, since I joined the group late this year.
I have read A Christmas Carol before but it was quite a few years ago. However, I am almost embarrassed to mention this is the first time I've attempted Pride and Prejudice (in book form).
