I just joined LT a few days ago and see that many of you have read Three Junes by Julia Glass. I'm just finishing it and I think it's great. Definitely on my top 20 list. I'm usually leery of gay themed books by women but I think this one is great. Two friends recently recommended it after the finished it so that's why I picked it up. Can't believe I ignored it for so long.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this book?

One day, rather out of the blue, one of my coworkers brought her copy of *Three Junes* by my office and told me she thought I'd really like it. Not knowing her well, I wasn't quite sure why she was recommending it, and I never actually read it. I always assumed it was because she'd overhead me listening to This American Life, by Ira Glass, who shares a last name with the author.
Anyway, reading your posting and learning that this was a book with gay male characters just gave me a whole new insight. That's why she recommended it.
Well, Dan, I know this probably doesn't add much to the kinds of "thoughts" you were seeking about this book, but thank you.
On an even more unrelated note, there's a little house in the West Village (on the northeast corner of Greenwich and Charles) that usually stands out to anyone who's walked around lower Manhattan. It has a little yard with grass and a drive way, which really contrasts with the surrounding buildings. Although I never got to reading *Three Junes*, every day as I walked home from work I'd pass by this house and it would remind me of the house on the cover of *Three Junes*.
Thanks for the unintended inspiration, Dan. I was looking for my next read, and now I think T.J. will be it.

I bought Three Junes, but haven't read it yet. It's on my ever-growing TBR pile...

I recommended the book to a young neice who "doesn't read". It was the one I could think of that might set her on the right path. Haven't heard yet if she read it.
