Hi - I really need a group like this, for accountability. :) Most of these titles are Kindle freebies or 99 centers I've collected over the years and never got around to reading. A couple have been hanging around since 2010! Wish me luck...

1 The family that couldn't sleep: a medical mystery, by D. T. Max
2 Pigs is pigs, by Ellis Parker Butler (Read in January 2017)
3 A kid for two farthings, by Wolf Mankowitz
4 Ten thousand miles by freight train, by Carrot Quinn
5 Picnic at the Iron Curtain: a memoir, by Susan Viets
6 If you lived here, I'd know your name: news from small town Alaska, by Heather Lende
7 When I married my mother: a daughter's search for what really matters - and how she found it caring for Mama Jo, by Jo Maeder
8 At day's close: night in times past, by A. Roger Ekirch
9 The lost tribe of Coney Island, by Claire Prentice
10 Listening Valley, by D. E. Stevenson
11 Mezza Italiana, by Zoe Boccabella (this one's an audio book)
12 It ain't over til it's over, by Marlo Thomas (another audio book)

New faces welcome :) I don't really know anything about Pigs is Pigs except that it's supposed to be pretty funny.

Well, I've finally read Pigs is Pigs, and I feel kind of guilty about counting it as a book--it was really more of a short story. Cute, I'd say, rather than laugh out loud funny. I'm glad to have read it though. My mother remembers her father (my grandfather) getting a kick out of it, so now I at least know what it was all about. And it got me started reading again, another worthwhile result. Since I finished it, I've read several things not on this TBR list.

See you next month!

I've done something similar - hunted down in adulthood some titles I remember my grandparents mentioning they liked when I was a kid. It's only too bad they're long gone and I can't swap impressions now.

Good approach to pacing yourself ;)

I also have some shorter books on my list. They are all on my tbr, and I need some shorter books to balance the longer ones. Great start on your challenge!
