Little help please

I see this group has become dormant since I was last here but I thought it was still worth a try. I'm trying to track down a poem that was printed in the front of one of my OU literature text books. I think it was from A210 and was the one with a picture of the ruby slippers on the cover (Lit and Gender or something like that? Or I may well have confused all of those things. Anyway, the poem was called A Prejudice and the premise was that the prejudice was personified as some kind of large obstacle and the writer (definitely a woman) was trying to get round/over/under it until she discovered she could walk straight through it. For some reason, I have always thought this was by Charlotte Bronte but I can't find it anywhere under her name so I'm guessing I've got this completely wrong. Does anyone still have this book and, if so, could they give me a headsup as to who wrote the poem or where else I can find it. Very many thanks and love to anyone still here who remembers me from 4(?) years ago.

I don't think I have the books for A210, but I'll have a dig around in those I have just in case. It sounds vaguely familiar.

It's okay - I've got it! The poem (as usual, pretty much all I remembered was wrong!) is An Obstacle by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Here it is for anyone who's interested:

That's the one - I remember it partially because Lizbeth Goodman, like yourself, was absolutely sure the speaker was a woman despite my detecting not a shred of evidence for that reading within the text.

But then Lizbeth was absolutely certain of a good many things which I considered at best contentious and not infrequently nonsense.

My tutor told me she had some people jump ship cos they were so upset by the Literature and Gender Block but personally I thoroughly enjoyed disputing the material.

Then there was the worst production of The Rover ever and the one woman demolition of the ending of A Doll's House

I was almost sorry when she left to take up impersonating a butterfly on stage.
