Civil rights advocate and professor Norman Dorsen died July 1 at the age of 86. His boosk include The Rights of Americans and Democracy and the Rule of Law.

Poet Heathcote Williams died July 1 at the age of 75. His works include Whale Nation and Sacred Elephant.

Joan Lee, wife of comic book legend Stan Lee, died July 6 at the age of 93. She wrote a book in 1987, which does not appear on LT, called The Pleasure Palace. According to her daughter, Mrs. Lee had three more finished, but unpublished novels at home.

Baseball statistician David W. Vincent died July 2 at the age of 67. He edited Home Runs in the Old BallParks and The Midsummer Classic.

Environmentalist Stephen Tindale died July 1 at the age of 54. He wrote Green Tax Reform.

Electronic composer Pierre Henry died July 5 at the age of 89. He wrote Journal de mes sons.

Former Vatican spokesman Joaquin Navarro-Valls died July 5 at the age of 80. He wrote Recuerdos y reflexiones.

Mexican artist Jose Luis Cuevas died July 3 at the age of 83. He wrote Jose Luis Cuevas: Self-Portrait with Model.

Business book author Spencer Johnson died July 3 at the age of 78. He is best known for Who Moved My Cheese? and The One Minute Manager.

Pulitzer prize winning author Kenneth Silverman died July 7 at the age of 81. His books include Edgar A. Poe: Mournful and Never-ending Remembrance, Lightning Man: the Accursed Life of Samuel F. B. Morse and Houdini!!!: The Career of Ehrich Weiss.

Former UCLA track coach Jim Bush died July 10 at the age of 90. He wrote Inside Track.

The FBI agent who masterminded the ABSCAM sting, Neil J. Welch, died June 29 at the age of 90. He wrote Inside Hoover's FBI

Author Jack G. Shaheen died on July 7 at the age of 81. He wrote Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Villifies a People and The TV Arab.

Chinese dissident and Nobel Prize recipient Liu Xiaobo died July 13 at the age of 61 in prison. His work includes No enemies, No Hatred and June Fourth Elegies.

Biographer S. Allen Counter died July 12 at the age of 73. He wrote North Pole Legacy and I Sought My Brother.

Former Dean of Westminster, the Rev. Wesley Carr died July 15 at the age of 75. His books include The New Dictionary of Pastoral Studies and Handbook of pastoral Studies.

Transgendered actress and model Aleshia Brevard died July 1 at the age of 79. Her memoir was called The Woman I Was Not Born to Be: A Transsexual Journey.

Founder of Pilgrim's Pride, "Bo" Lonnie Pilgrim died July 21 at the age of 89. He wrote One Pilgrim's Progress: How to Build a World-Class Company, and Who to Credit.

Barbara Sinatra, widow of Frank Sinatra, died July 25 at the age of 90. She wrote Lady Blue Eyes: My Life with Frank and The Sinatra Celebrity Cookbook.

Philosopher Anne Dufourmantelle died July 21 at the age of 53. Her books include Of Hospitality, Negri on Negri, Blind Date: Sex and Philosophy and Eloge du Risque.

Margaret Bergmann Lambert was prevented from participating in the 1936 Berlin Olympics for Germany because she was Jewish. She died July 25 at the age of 103. She wrote By Leaps and Bounds.

The voice of many beloved cartoon characters, June Foray, died July 26 at age 99. She wrote Did You Grow Up with Me, Too? The Autobiography of June Foray and Perverse, Adverse and Rottenverse.

Historian Thomas J. Fleming died July 25 at the age of 90. Of his many books, two of the most popular are Liberty!: The American Revolution and Duel: Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr, and the Future of America.

Dr. Herbert L. Needleman died July 18 at the age of 89. His books include Raising Children Toxic Free, Prenatal Exposure to Toxicants, and Human Lead Exposure.

Neuroscientist Marian C. Diamond died July 25 at the age of 90. Her books include The Human Brain Coloring Book and Enriching Heredity.

Man of many talents, but most celebrated as a sailor, Edward C. Allcard died July 28 at the age of 102. He wrote "Temptress" Returns and Single-Handed Passage.

Mavis Arnold, a journalist, died July 18th age 80 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. She wrote The Children of the Poor Clares which told the story of a school/orphanage in Ireland. A fire broke out in 1943 and 35 girls died — the sisters having locked them in a dormitory so that the public would not see them in their nightclothes. It was in the 1970s that Arnold began to unearth story against opposition.

Historian Trevor Fawcett died July 21 at the age of 83. His books include Voices of Eighteenth-Century Bath and Bath Entertain'd.
