I got Veganomican: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook yesterday, and I cannot wait to start cooking! I made the Snobby Joes already from the online recipe, but there are so many other things in there I can't wait to try. I need to invite some guinea pigs, er, friends over to help me eat it all.

I asked for it but alas did not get it. I did get How to Cook Everything Vegetarian which also looks pretty good. I still have hopes for my birthday though which is next week. Enjoy!

I got a gift card to Borders from my brother, and this was the first book I picked up! I have been holding off purchasing it because I was buying gifts for other people, but I went right to the bookstore yesterday to get it as soon as I could.

I bought it for my sister, and want to keep it for myself. I still haven't wrapped it because I keep sneaking peeks - this is a great cookbook. I'll have to order another copy to keep.

If only the touchstones worked, you could go check it out, weener! It is an awesome book. I haven't even made anything from it yet, but I know I am going to love it.

I've made the Coconut Lemon Bundt cake fr. it--v. good! Also the Mac Daddy (I loved it; my partner, less thrilled).

I really need to try cooking/actually using my books instead of just going for pre-packaged.
I'm DYING to try the pumpkin ziti with carmelized onions and sage dressing, the eggplant moussaka and of course, the chickpea cutlets!

Not fair, punkypower, to those of us at work with nothing but peanut butter to look forward to till evening - I'll be thinking about the pumpkin ziti all day.
But I'm pretty sure I've got the ingredients at home, and a good bottle of wine to go with it, so that's my dinner plan.

I made the chickpea cutlets, and they were awesome. I also made the banana chocolate chip bread pudding, and the snobby joes. They were all really good. The joes had 3 Tbsp of chili powder, which I thought was awesome, but next time I will probably use a bit less, since it was too spicy for the kiddoes.
My friends and I have paged through it looking at several recipes, but I haven't done much cooking lately. I have big plans, though. The tempeh sushi rolls look awesome.

So far I have made
Asparagus Spinach Dip
Diner Home Fries
Tofu Florentine
Crepes
Quinoa Salad with Black Beans and Mango
Soft Poppy Seed Polenta
Mediterranean-Style Baked Lima Beans
Lemony Roasted Potatoes
Basic Broiled Tofu
Chickpea Cutlets
Pineapple Cashew Quinoa Stirfy
Lentils and Rice with Carmelized Onions
Cheezy Sauce
Jalapeno Corn Gravy
Sweet Vidalia Onion Sauce
Chocolate Chocolate Walnut Cookies
The crepes wouldn't stay together and the polenta was better the next day but everything else has been fantastic. It is a great resource too, usually I sautee vegentables or steam them and since I got the book I have been baking everything and it is so much better and easier. I love having all the roasting times and temperatures.
If anyone has some vegan crepe tips I would love to hear them! I wasn't great at making egg ones but at least I could flip them :)
