This challenge was too tempting to resist! I have chosen my eight categories, and will list my books in each category as I read them. I doubt very much that I will be able to read 64 (or even 56 if I cross list eight) in a year, but why not give it a try?

King Leary is a book about a former hockey star who won the Stanley Cup in the year of 1919. I had read that this book would be full of laughs, but that was not the case for me. (2/5)

I have now been marked "dormant". I don't post messages after every book, I just make an addition to my "Master List".
I'd better change my strategy before I get kicked out ! :0)

It is now only two months left of 2008 and I am not even half way done with my 888 challenge ! I just saw a new group being started for 2009 - The 999 challenge ! I think I will join.....in January of 2009.

Hi Ebba:

Looks like you've read some great books. You do the same thing that I do - edit your master list. I really prefer to see everything together, just like you've got yours and I've got mine.

What I do to avoid 'dormancy' is to post a comment or two about what I'm reading every once in a while to keep my thread active.

I don't think I'm going to succeed at the 888 challenge either, but that's okay.

I'm in the 999 challenge and have already picked most of my books. I got quite a few via bookmooch and found lots more from my tbr piles.

See you around!
