Hi all. Could I please have suggestions for authors for this year's monthly reads? I'm attempting to create one list now as I won't have time later in the year to create the quarterly lists.
I'm thinking up to four names each would make things manageable.
We're aiming for eleven names. (I'm going to skip January as we're already into it). If we get more than eleven, I'll arrange a deciding vote.
Deadline will be Midnight British time Tuesday 9th January.
To qualify the author should have had at least one book published as a Virago Modern Classic. Please avoid the names below which were chosen last year.
Vita Sackville-West
Rebecca West
Edith Wharton
Elizabeth von Arnim
Willa Cather
Margaret Laurence
Rumer Godden
Christina Stead
Nina Bawden
Margaret Kennedy
Margaret Atwood
Sylvia Townsend Warner
Any suggestions 😊 ?

Thanks Dee.
My suggested nominees are:
Ellen Glasgow,

Gail Godwin &
Ada Leverson
Thanks Dee.

Dee, are we still suggesting or are we voting? Sorry, I am just a little confused.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. We have well over eleven names (twenty six, I think) so I have created a voting thread here.
