Has anybody else seen the movie? Your thoughts?

I saw the movie and was a little disappointed that they left out a lot from the book.

I saw the movie and liked it, for the most part. I was disappointed about some of the things they left out, but the visual spectacle (costumes, setting, etc.) was really good.

I don't understand why they had Charles Wallace be adopted; and I wanted to see Aunt Beast, and where were the twins? Making Meg biracial was interesting (and she was awesome in the part! I hope to see more of her in the future). I always imagined all the the Mrs. as much older, grandmotherly types. AWIT was the first sci-fi I ever read, back in the early '70s when I was in 5th grade. Meg spoke to me in a way no other female book character ever had. How groundbreaking it was to have A GIRL who was brilliant in math, and who saved not only her father but the universe. I read it again in college as a part of Children's Lit class, and it was like an entirely new book--caught nuances that went over my head as a child. Then read it again as an adult who had done some Bible studies, and still more insights. I may just pick it up again.

OTOH, I sold at least 4 copies at a recent book fair, and the library copy is currently checked out. I've previously book talked it, displayed it, suggested it to no avail. :)
