I had read Home Fire and Sing, Unburied Sing before the longlist was announced. I just got Miss Burma and See What I Have Done from the library.
The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock has great ratings on LT, but is not published in Canada until Sept 18.

>2 raidergirl3: I've read the same two that you have, Elizabeth. I probably won't get around to reading more before the prize announcement, but look forward to reading everyone's thoughts.

I've read The Idiot, Home Fire, and Sing, Unburied, Sing. Currently I am reading When I Hit You and it's well done, but very dark. I really cannot recommend The Idiot at all. Four hundred pages of tedium. I think my personal favourite so far is Home Fire. I really enjoyed Miss Burma and that I would recommend. I'm also keen to get my hands on The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock, but as Elizabeth noted, it's not available in Canada until September 18.

So delighted that Home Fire won the Women's Prize for Fiction, 2018 ! I was pulling for it! I did finish When I Hit You and it was very good, but I don't think it will find a large audience they way Home Fire might.
