Hi,

I am Karen from Indiana (Craftybear2005). I just found this site and entering my books by isbn #. I was wondering if anyone have used the scanner that you can purchase for $15.00.

When I started entering some of my books by isbn by hand did't have a photo of book and then I scanned the book on computer to upload to add to my collection (and got error photo size too big).

So how can we get photo of books.

I think the scanner is the bar-code kind of scanner, not the image kind, if that's what you're asking.

on this site of librarything.com says you can order a scanner from them for $15.00 to scan in your book collection to your library on this site.

Sounds like a cool and fast way to upload the books to our library.

To get a photo of the book you'd need either to take a picture of it and upload that or use an image scanner. Anna is right -- the scanner available on this website is for scanning barcodes so that you don't have to type in ISBN's to get your library online.

Just to reiterate and avoid any confusion caused by the word "scanner":

I just took a look at the Tools page. The CueCat -- the $15 scanner -- is the second item listed. There is a heading above the link that says "Cheap barcode scanner". The description (below the link) says so again, and also states that it can handle those Borders labels, too. There's also a picture of a CueCat about to pounce on a barcode.
