Has anyone been able to successfully import their books from Logos? I was able to export my logos library but I am not having any luck with the import into LibraryThing.

If i add one book with an ISBN it will attempt to process the import but it's not finding anything to add.

I successfully imported over 4,000 titles from Logos today. None have ISBNs. My next task is to try to figure out how to import ISBNs, so the LT will complete filling out the book details/info.

In order to import to LT, you have to export from Logos as a CSV file. Then you must rearrange the columns to match the LibraryThingSample.csv template you can find on this website. (Make sure that after editing, you do not save it as an Excel format file. It must be csv.) Delete ALL other columns that are not included in the template. Make sure you have the exact same header info in the first row as is on the template.

Ah, what a disappointment. I opened this thinking someone was trying to start a theological conversation about the Logos in the life of faith, and it turns out to be a library-related question about a website I've never even heard of! Good luck with it, though.

Iʻm not familiar with Bibleworks10 nor with Logos (the company); but "en arche en ho Logos" is my favorite New Testament quote. I, too, John, am disappointed that this is a software/publishing thread, not the "start of a theological conversation" (though it could be that, too!)
I think that "Word" is an inadequate* translation for the "Logos" of John: 1. That Logos has several meanings (including "account" and "report" which are also inadequate translations). So, Im glad I can read
classical and biblical Greek. I would say the biblical Johnʻs "Logos" means something like "Deity + Speech-rendition".

*So are ", "Wort", Verbum", "Palabra", "Parole",etc. -- other languagesʻ renditions which parallel the English.

I love the scene in Faust where he is trying to translate that passage.

Very interesting tirade, but I agree on what you say "moves it.".

Sorry. For some reason I was reminded of this although I probably hadn't read it for many years. I had a professor who loved Goethe and made him come alive.

I agree with you, of course, that Word is a weak translation. Still I like the idea that communication was the main impetus of creation.

I havenʻt met anyone who makes Goethe "come alive", but I think he IS alive -- and much neglected by me --
in the past few decades. No reason to say "sorry" for the quote, though I donʻt believe "Tat" is an adequate translation, either; it is only, as you say, his idea of a "should be".

Logos led the Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to his Cosmic Christ, and more recently the Franciscan Richard Rohr has expressed it as Blueprint. Of course all expressions of it are inadequate.

Any luck with the ISBN's? I want to export my Logos8 library to LibraryThing and mark them with a Logos Tag. That way I know which e-books I already have when I'm in the store...
