For some reason, the last time I tried to sign in to PayPal, they told me they need me to upload my Social Security Card, my driver's license, and something with my name and address on it. And each image needed to be 2MB in size. I scanned my cards, but they were only 225KB each, so PayPal wouldn't take them, and I'm locked out of my account.

That's not your problem, I just wrote it because I'm still steamed about having to find a phone number, and spending days going through PayPal phone-menu Hell (That 's why I dropped their credit card). Again, I'm just venting - you can forget this. Except that I cannot sign up for TinyCat with PayPal.

Is there another way?

When I get access to my PayPal account, I'll probably cancel it, so I need an alternative I can use regularly. Giving me an address so I can mail you an annual check would work.

Thanks

The address is available by going through the contact page (See the bottom of most LT pages) to
http://www.librarything.com/snailmail.php

The contact page also has a specific email for TinyCat.

>1 SeattleMetaphysical: Sorry about your trouble with PayPal (it worries me that they'd ask you for such information!).

You can certainly pay for TinyCat by "Yearly One-time Check or Money Order"; see the details for how to do so on our Help page for TinyCat's Billing: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/TinyCat:_Billing.

Let me know if you have any further questions!

>1 SeattleMetaphysical: Also sounds like you might need to change your scanner settings.

(Or, thinking outside the box, maybe use a different file format that PayPal accepts that is lossless and doesn't compress. .tif comes to mind -- assuming they'll accept it.)

>3 kristilabrie: I just had to set up a second account (business) for the museum as trying to change anything on an existing account (name, email address, etc) requires all that stuff and it has to be notarized to boot. The new account required all that stuff but nothing notarized. . . didn't ask for my blood type (sic).

>1 SeattleMetaphysical: The way I read the image stuff was that the maximum size was 2 meg. For example, I scanned in my driver's license as a pdf and the size was about 250 kb.
